Jewel of Jordan Lake Neighborhood: Hummingbird, 10 photos

This ruby-throated hummingbird was busy feeding from the trumpet vines.
She was also pollinating as she fed – that is white pollen sprinkled on her head.
Every once in a while the dainty lady would perch and I could, for a moment, study her face.

  1. Neat. In my experience it’s rare to see them sitting still. Once I get a lot of flowers in the flwoer garden in the backyard, I see them. Lovely. Judy

  2. I hope to be shooting them when I come back from my trip in mid July.
