Jordan Lake. This American crow showed up all by himself and then proceeded to talk to anybody that would listen but I think it was mostly just Doc listening. I hope that you can also hear his quiet rolling chuckles from deep down in his throat. Take care, be safe. Be well.

Jordan Lake. The fog bank this morning was so very interesting and in contrast to a little bit of the low rumbling roar of our neighbors on their way to work or to school or back home again. Stay safe, be well.
Jordan Lake Bald Eagle Nest Report: H&G nest
This morning I watched Mama Godiva fly into the upper reaches of a dead tree and snatch a branch out to use to repair her nest. It was a rather pointy and many branched section that she had. But she did manage to get it into the nest. I’ve often wondered when I watch the bald eagles do this, as in the first picture, how the eagle don’t get all tangled up in all the other branches around them. But they make it in and they make it out and they make it to the nest! Go mama Godiva go.

Doc Ellen’s GoFundMe Update
I am glad and very grateful to let you know that my GoFundMe campaign is just shy of the 2/3 point. When thinking of this upcoming milestone, I got to remembering the day I first got to Jordan Lake. I have made a short video so that you too can share in that memory. Please enjoy the serenity of the waters of Jordan Lake with me.

Jordan Lake Dam. This morning I came to see if I can find any eagles out here on the river and lo and behold black vultures decided to investigate the trashcan about 12 feet from me. As you can see the youngster got into whatever is left inside of a plastic bag. I wish somebody had not left the bag there – I will go remove it. In the meantime here is a Natural Minute with a beautiful, and I do mean that, black vulture.

Jordan Lake. Solid stands dream bridge between our waking and sleep. Lake becomes bed linen. Sky eases our breath as we slip into repose. Sleep well, each of you, sleep well.
