Jordan Lake Dam and Haw River, Friday, June 12, 2020. I had been out this morning working with a horse and on my way back home I stopped at the lake. So you have a middle of the day natural minute. The ospreys were busy soaring up and down the river looking for fish for their babies. Usually birds knock off feeding in the middle of the day, unless, you have very hungry, very fast growing chicks to feed. Take care, be safe. Stay well.

Jordan Lake Dam and Haw River, June 11, 2020. I got to the lake this morning just as the sun was easing up through the clouds and the light rain was falling on birds and human beings. The little iPhone and I followed several ospreys over the next 20 minutes trying to catch one of the ospreys fishing but they eluded me. I still enjoyed standing underneath my natural umbrella, a.k.a. pine tree and watching these graceful fisher birds work their way up and down the river. Have a blessed day, be safe. Stay well … do indeed stay healthy.

Mom osprey was soaking wet. She wanted to just take a breath and groom. But, no, her chick wanted fish, food, fish, food, right now! Offspring always seem to be hungry and loud and just certain their parent has nothing better to do than to dash off, catch another fish and feed them. Not this time. Nope. Mom osprey had other things to do besides listening to a noisy chick.
