Most of us tend to think that the Canada goose is a big bird, and it is. Then you see it next to a tundra swan.
That is a Canada goose in the reeds just to the left of the tundra swan.

If for no other reason, one goes to Mattamuskeet Refuge in the late fall through winter to see the tundra swans.
These birds have flown from the far north tundra to over winter here in North Carolina.
