This fledgling bald eagle seemed to be intent on scaring the two humans with their big cameras
as he made a great imitation of a B52 bomber on target.
Then feeling that he had properly put the fear of the bald eagle into us,
he dropped his left wing, turned and headed up the lake.
There have been requests that I offer a second presentation of my bald eagle lecture at the Jordan Lake State Park.
Ranger Steve McMurray has been kind enough to schedule another session.
I will be talking about the bald eagles of Jordan Lake and how their lives interact with the lake’s community.
Presentation is on Saturday, September 24, from 2:00 – 3:00 PM.

This 2 year-old bald eagle is well on the way to it’s 3rd year of life at Jordan Lake.
I hope to see some of you at the Eagle Lecture tomorrow at Jordan Lake.
It isn’t hard to tell that Big Chick is the offspring of Hershey –
she has his lighter coloring; albeit with a slight coppery tint.
