I didn’t want to miss the eclipse totality. Around the corner came the local deer family. They are used to me sitting on my front porch but not bundled up in a dark blanket. The front legged stomp by a couple of the deer is a warning alert. They also tried hard using their noses to identify the porch lump. Eventually they wandered off and I looked up and there was the totality.

Jordan Lake. Early this morning I was on my way over to the boat ramps when I saw a pair of deer ahead. I quietly coasted to a stop, rolled the window down on my truck and took this video of them having their breakfast. Hope you enjoy their leisurely browsing!

Jordan Lake Neighborhood: Early Morning Deer Visit
I had just settled into my chair on the shoreline of the lake this morning. A family of deer stepped from the swampy area across from me. Momma Deer was cautious but she was also curious about the human quietly sitting in her chair. I smiled as she led her family across the shallow water and stepped up on the bank about 12 feet from me. Hesitating for a moment, Momma deer decided I wasn’t a danger. The family trotted past me and headed up the hill toward their daytime resting place. Oh, my.
