bald eagles of Jordan Lake
TagThere must have been more than a thousand gulls arguing, fishing, screaming, swirling and chasing each other when suddenly everything went silent and there were gulls scattering to all points of the compass. I swear this 3-year-old bald eagle laughed at the panic he had caused. He didn’t stay long before he launched and caused a second panic.

Jordan Lake: Godiva
Godiva, mother bald eagle at H&G nest, soared from the tree line and past me. Her mass easy to see…from the huge beak, through the vast bulk of her body and into feet and talons that show the grip that is said to be about 10 times stronger than the grip of a human hand! In other words those massive talons can exert up to about 400psi. Some grip!
