First Nest
Mom Kate had snapped off a long twisted branch from a tree.
She headed for the nest to add it to her repair work.
Resolute got very interested …
and then he got worried, but all ended well
even though I was laughing so hard I got the landing photo all out of focus and didn’t include it …

First Nest

I didn’t get to directly see Resolute, argh, again!
However, Kate brought in this huge mat of nesting material.
She then proceeded to feed Resolute, but he was behind one of the branches.
I could see her tearing off bites and leaning in to feed him.

H&G nest

Godiva was sitting on her nest when a 3-year-old bald eagle buzzed the nest.
Godiva in lower left corner and 3-year-old in the sky.
Hershey (not shown) showed up zooming at top speed and the juvenile eagle left in a flash.

First Nest

The chick is still with us – earning it the name Resolute.  I watched it flap its wings and stretch out!
It took most of today before one of the parents – Kate – brought in food.
Both parents very, very edgy all day. Would dash to the nest and then right back out.
It is still touch and go for the chick – the stress may take a while to show.
Hopefully, Resolute will hang in there and fledge sometime in May.
I couldn’t get a photo of Resolute today – but will keep trying so you all can see the chick too.
Thanks for all the continuing prayers, good thoughts and well-wishes.
