Jordan Lake: This morning the Natural Minute has a double in it – two juvenile bald eagles stopped by. They suddenly appeared out of the fog and I certainly enjoyed them. Take care, stay well. Be safe.

TagAristocrat
Jordan Lake: this very aristocratic yearling is one of the Gang of Eight. I had been watching the H&G nest, trying to see if eggs had hatched (I was not able to verify that). Then I watched five of the members of the Gang of Eight go streaming past me and most of them went around the corner. This yearling lingered behind.

Doc Ellen’s Natural Minute 02/22/2022
Jordan Lake: A young bald eagle decided to visit me. It was about 10 minutes after sunrise this morning. The bald eagle gave me the joy of being able to do a video so that I could share the youngster with all of you! Take care, be safe. Stay well!
H&G Nest in the Golden Hour
Jordan Lake. At the golden hour this morning, I found mama Godiva out on the perch in front of her nest. That is dad Hershey that you can see inside of the nest, just to the left of the main trunk. Their egg(s) should hatch just about any day now. So I am watching very very closely!

First Bald Eagle Chick I’ve Seen This Season
Jordan Lake: High Rise Nest. First bald eagle CHICK for us to celebrate this season!!! This is a nest that I don’t often get to see unless I am out with Captain Doug. We went drifting by yesterday and lo and behold there was a gray fuzzy chick in the nest with mom. Hooray!

Fish Chase … in the Sky
Jordan Lake: Part of the Gang of 8 decides to chase each other, one of whom has a fish, rather than pester the parent bald eagles … for the moment. By the way, the fish wins the round.
