Jordan Lake, Haw River: Bald Eagle! Fishing in the riprap! This is Notch the Bald Eagle. I haven’t seen this almost 5-year-old eagle since January when she still had a few dark feathers in her tail. There are still one or two on her face. I sure hope she finds a mate this fall. Wow! It has been a long time since I got to photograph a fishing bald eagle. Oh, my.

Jordan Lake, Haw River, August 24, 2020. The lake level is at 216.33 feet. I think both an Osprey and Doc Ellen were slow this morning. You’ll see what I mean when you watch the Osprey go after a fish. I was a little slow in my responses and was watching him instead of watching the time on the video recorder. So I ended the video a little abruptly. I apologize! Have a blessed day, take care. Be very well!

Heart leaf of wandering vine, softly asleep in the amber silk of Haw River running deep. May the image guide you into quiet sleep.

Jordan Lake Dam, Haw River, Sunday, August 23, 2020. Lake Level is 216.47 feet. All is quiet out here this morning. The sky is quiet and gray. The river is serene and flowing towards the ocean. A fledgling great blue heron was resting quietly before he went to find himself a snack. Have a blessed day, take care be safe. And, oh do be well!
Stretch!
Jordan Lake: How to define the word “STRETCH”! This 4-year-old bald eagle did a magnificent stretch and leap into the air when it launched. I reckon you could also use the photo to define “POWER”!
