This immature bald eagle flew over the boat I was riding in during the CleanJordanLake.org Fall event yesterday.
The volunteers work hard to give the lake, the land, the critters a clean environment.
The lake had a slight chop which made getting a sharp photo a challenge, but it was fun trying.

Full lunar eclipse, full moon, October 8, 2014. I struggled trying to get my camera right and give to all of you decent photos. There were several photographers, videographers and binocular users at the site on the lake and there was sharing of how-tos. The maximum coverage occurred after the moon entered the horizon haze, got outmatched by the rising sun and was lost to our view. There was a collective sigh.

My friend calls the belted kingfish “NASCAR” for his speed when fishing
and the continuous laps he makes over his territory.
Almost as important as eyes looking down for fish,
is the osprey’s eyes sweeping upward, scanning for a marauding eagle.
This bluejay makes a bright blue splash against the green pine needles –
even though the bluejay’s feathers have no blue pigment…our eyes are fooled into seeing the bird as being blue.
