Petruchio caught this large catfish at the north end of the cove. He is headed for the nest and the chicks.

Kate leaves in a hurry
One of the chicks, to the left of the tree limb, watches as mother Kate leaves in a hurry.
The chicks are now sporting a light grey fuzz on top of their heads, a dark brown/black face and body with a pale yellow beak.

the first time I saw this immature herring gull it was standing beside a ring-billed gull
it made the ring-billed gull look small
it is not common for me to see the herring gull at Jordan Lake
