here it is, Monday morning, and the eagles are arguing…
the younger of the two eagles, the one to the left, is the one who started the ruckus
by trying to grab a fish from the 4 year old, who dropped the fish during the melee
concentration
such an intense concentration on this adult bald eagle’s face
bright taloned feet
in another moment this 4 year old eagle will lift his wings up and back and snap those taloned feet forward
to land with assured practice in a high tree
better part of valor…
the 2 year-old, to the left, had landed a moment before this photo was snapped
the 4 year old landed, glared at the younger eagle, made a threat posture
and the younger eagle popped up off the limb and was gone
well-taloned
even when the eagle is heading downstream away from me, his well-taloned method of fishing is on display
