Mom Ranger and her two chicks were waiting for some fish.
 
 
Then mom Ranger saw an osprey flying in with a fish for its mate.
Mom Ranger dashed for the osprey and literally banged into it, hoping to get the osprey to drop its fish.
This is a favorite tactic of bald eagles – let the osprey catch the fish, then steal the fish for the eaglets.
The plucky osprey hung onto its prize and dashed between two trees where mom Ranger couldn’t follow it.
Mom Ranger was quite grumpy.  Not everything goes the eagle’s way.

First Nest

Resolute stretches his wings.
Then dad Petruchio shows up with a big fish and Resolute tries to grab it from dad’s foot.
Mom Kate quickly gets to the nest and feeds Resoute.
Wait for the BIG gulp at the end – mom tries to help but Resolute is determined to handle the situation himself.

Kate had just finished feeding Resolute.
Resolute will be 8 weeks old on March 24.  He is almost as big as mom.
I managed to grab these few seconds of video.
My camera that I usually use for doing videos is not happy.
I resorted to using my iPhone to catch a few seconds of the live view from my other camera.

Dad Petruchio wanted a new branch for his nest repair. He eyes just which branch. Walks up to it, measures it with his feet and his beak. The pesky crow isn’t helping. And Mom Kate is heard offscreen hollering for Petruchio to hurry.  He has to be sure his flight path is clear or he will tangle himself up with the branch and the tree. He launches ….
