Jordan Lake Dam. Doc Ellen‘s Natural Minute. Oh, it has been a while since I’ve gotten all the way down to the south end of the lake. Found myself here at the dam, sun rising and it’s a beautifully cool morning too. Have a blessed day, take care. Be safe and well.

AuthorFledgling Bald Eagle Encounter
Jordan Lake. I heard the fledgling bald eagle screaming as it burst forth from the trees. Right behind the young eagle was a pair of fish crows. Jordan Lake. I caught the red-headed woodpecker couple on a little bit of video for you. One parent was in the nesting cavity – incubating or brooding – and its partner arrived. The parents traded off nest duties while I was watching. Hope you enjoy!
Red-headed Woodpecker Parents
Jordan Lake. This pair of red-headed woodpeckers have started incubation – can you see the parent inside the nest cavity in the 1st photo? Both parents incubate the eggs. The male usually takes night duty. The startled questioning look on the one that was down deep inside and popped out as the other parent disappeared is quite funny.

Jordan Lake. Clouds always get my attention. There was one puff of cloud just above the skyline not long after sunrise that was very interesting. Especially its reflection! Have a blessed day, take care, be safe.
